I am SO excited to report that we have met (and passed) our goal of raising $250 to buy a Nook Simple Touch and books for a U.S. Marine deployed to Afghanistan. As of right now, we have enough for the Nook, the replacement protection plan, and LOTS of books. To all of you who donated, either online or directly to me at the store...THANK YOU! I really could not have done this without your help.
I'm planning to buy and send the Nook this week--depending on how quickly Backhaus' mom and I can get the Nook registered and download the books--but if there is anyone who'd like to make an eleventh hour donation, shoot me an email and I'll happily send you the link. Even if it comes in after I send the Nook, we can always use it for more books.
