The sales department at Bloomsbury thought THE NEW NORMAL sounded a little self-helpish and they might have a point. When I did a search on Amazon and B&N, there are books with the same title about the economy, green living, death & grieving...there's even a self-published gay romance about a Marine. So...yeah. Additionally, sales likes the emotional angle of the book (which includes the romance) so they might be looking for something with a little more girl appeal.
The problem isn't really wrapping my head around the idea that the title I love is going to change; it's coming up with a new one. It's so hard when all of the good ones are taken! However, I have something in mind that I will be sharing with my editor tomorrow. If it's met with approval, I'll share it with you. Otherwise, I'll go back to the drawing board and share when I can.

Title: ALL YOUR HEARTS BELONG TO TRAVIS.
Khy, that title is WIN!
My friend had to help come up with a new title for her book. It was hard for me! LOL. I can't imagine if I was her!
Good luck. I hope the new one works out.
Thanks, Kelley. I've found the name change has been harder on other people than me. I think TNN fits perfectly, but I'm flexible..and if the change will grab more attention, I'm all over it.
aww, I'm so sad that the title is being changed! I loved "The New Normal" it seemed perfect. But definitely, if it works, then go for it! Wish you the best, Trish! :)
Thanks, Alexis!
