...as a sponge diver. We went on a sponge boat tour, during which we learned a lot about how they harvested sponges in the past--and included the big suit (pictured) with the dive bell helmet--and how it's done now.
We also walked around the sponge docks, which are filled with gift shops and Greek restaurants, including Hellas--where we had baklava--and Mama's--where we ate gyros. For research purposes, of course.
I don't want to give too much away yet, but I'm pretty excited about the things I learned today and VERY ready to write!

Okay that sounds awesome. I need to start writing things set in a warmer climate. And with better food.
I highly recommend both!
hm, I commented exuberantly, and it...didn't work? but I HOPE THIS WORKS! lol.
I've only been to Florida twice in my life, and one of those two times, I went to Tarpon Springs AND ATE AT HELLAS! so cool. I am so envious of your research. me? I continue to set my books in this dreary northern MN mining town.
HELLAS was so amazing. There were so many pastries I couldn't decide!
